Default Getting concerned with EP3

I baught a '03 EP3 back at the beginning of summer. Starting to worry me. The motor is ticking pretty loud, the A/C has all but quit, compressor is noisy. I have 3000 babied miles on it, and i do not understand the ticking. I work at honda, and this seems alot louder then other EP3's i have seen so far. It only seems to tick like that after a drive like at least 3 miles, after it is good and warm. This is my first brand new car, and i am starting to wish i had not baught it. Anyone else having **** like this happen with your EP3's?

You probably know this, but the EP's do consume quite a bit of oil during the first 5000 miles, so make sure to top it off every weekend if needed. That could be the cause of your valve ticking.

Change your oil to 10w30 for 1 oil change it gets rid of the injector noise that sounds like a 'ticking'. + my ac works fine for 35+ miles but yeah, change your oil to something heavier. It works.

My friend put over 25K in the first year and the car drives great no issues at all except a little low on oil after 3k,which I think is common with any Honda Vtec/IVTEC. For the SI.

i have 24,900 on mine, I have 2nd and third gear tranny grinds, but nothing else, the ticking is the fuel injecters. But i doo want to note that about a yeat ago on the ephatch.com forum a guys valve clearance was off by a thousanths or so, after 25,000 miles. it was under warranty. it wasnt that big of a problem but you never know with NEW car chassis, and NEW engines!

Oil is always full, i check it at each fill-up, or once a week. The ticking is not injector, it is internal. It is easy to distinguish the 2. I do work for a Honda/Acura shop, and i can warranty anything, but still it is the aggrivation of this happening to a brand new Honda. The car i traded was a 96 dx coupe with 140K on it, and had no problems whatsoever. Then again, i do see these cars everyday, and it might just be me. I think the next EP i work on i will pay close attention to it, and see if i hear this stuff on it. As far as the wheel bering noise goes, i rotated the tires and it is still in the rear, guess i will order both rear berings. I'll keep you posted...
