Yes, you would have to have the system vacuumed and serviced by a professional shop, especially if the system remained open to the air for a long period of time.... Removing the A/C IMHO is a waste of time.

because we live in AZ and both have black interior so its hot as hell in the summer, its starting to cool down around here so we wanted to take our a/c units out to free up that 10hp and take a little weight off of our backs

I think its a good idea. Free up a tiny bit up power, and also lose 30lbs. If you want any extra advantage then its a good idea. unless your a wimp and can't handle turning the steering wheel

i wish i didn't live in arizona... cuz then i wouldn't have to goto sleep at night knowing you live in the same state as me haha, anyway aaron, no its really not... if you take it to a shop, they suck the air out of the lines, fill it with freon, run ur A/C and suck all the air out, fill it with freon, suck the air out, fill with freon etc etc.... then you have iiiice cold a/c. take ur a/c you *****, took me liek 15 minutes

you fall into the category of stupid people whom i hate. If you have minimum wage jobs, and are still in high school (like the az poeple who have posted in here), you want horsepower without spending money because our mommy's and daddy's do not support us by giving us money to buy ****. My a/c is removed because it has to be for my new turbo setup anyway. I've noticed i can get 330-350 miles on a tank of gas and i could only get 300 if i squeezed it before.

There's more positive things to removing a/c then there are to addin some worthless n/a mod and according to your mad stunna name, it sounds like you're the only one who can say two fast and two furious

you must be one of the most dumbest people on the board.. if you take a look at the original post.. hes removing his AC to gain HP cuz its getting cooler in AZ...

and if you think im the type that has parents always paying for my ****.. thats pretty funny since how i have a stock O2 SI .. that i may say proudly paid for myself out of my own pocket...and support myself by putting a roof over me and puttin clothes over my back and food on my own table.. since i was 17.. and now 22.. i highly doubt i fall into the "sponsored by mom and dad" but you prolly do

but hey if you say i have a stunna name...

"This how we do it, where I'm from
Thuggin in the club until I see the sun
Shi-ine, on my face, got the gun on my waist
Walkin to my escalade, tellin boys im not afraid, to let the iron
sing out, let the ring out" Big tymers

personally i think youre better off spending two hours on a treadmill to burn off the 30 lbs than removing and reinstalling the a/c in your car. you can remove the accessory belt if you want the additional power .

thats about the dumbest thing Ive heard. 2f2f racers don't know **** about a/c and freeing up hp buy removing it. there more concerned with unpainted body kits and neon's that add 50hp

I've thought about doing this. I've had no A/C for over a year now, and only because it's been broken. (needs clutch plate). 10 hp is a bit of an exaggeration you think? Or is it really about that much freed up power? Is it power you can feel from doing this?

I feel stupid for asking, but what does that have to do with removing the A/C? Is it linked to the power steering so when you remove one, it's both?
