Why go boost?

Turbo = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
N/A = $$$$$$$$

Well thats at first... If you get really into n/a then this would be the case...

Turbo = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
N/A = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

lol, so i guess n/a cuz it's easier to get into, and cuz it's more fun making an n/a 4 banger run 12's then making a turbo 4 banger run 12's...

Thats my opinion... Feel free to condradict... Everyone has their own reasons...

Because no blow off valve sound can compare with vtec at 9500 RPM

For real tho, both NA and Boost are fun, its really up to you which way you want to go, I prefer sleeper type of cars so I choose allmotor, one more thing.. no boost lag.

what does it take to make a motor turn 9500 rpm, ^ im like you guys i like all motor better, I want a HIGH revving motor that still makes power at that high rpm. What motor would you guys recommend for this, and still put down awsome numbers?

because you don't want a high jolt of tq on a FF car midway through a turn

and because NA is Better!

all motor is great for the sleeper factor. from the outside what seems like a single cam vtec could really be a built GSR motor. no BOV sound and no front mount giving things away. plus u can gradually build an all motor set up over time. turbo is all at once.

a b16 is a cheap way to rev to 9500 and then some. get some good cams, titanium valve springs and retainers, and u can handle really high revs with a setup like that. make sure ur getting enough fuel too.

lol true , but if you have the money at once its even more fun . out of both b18c1 is the best choice and you can boost later on if you choose to go that route . but all motor = no lag ..

I see turbos as being a crutch. Take the Silvia and Skyline, for instance. If neither of these cars had turbos, they would be slugs of the worst kind. How much power could you possibly get for an SR20DE or a (hypothetical) RB26DE? Not enough to make those heavy cars go too fast. Because of this, going allmotor gives your car a certain credibility that turbocharging never will. If you are turbocharged, the domestic crowd will always think that you are only fast because you are turbocharged (and that you would be slow if you weren't). Suck people take it MUCH more seriously if you can run fast in a four-banger WITHOUT the help of forced induction.

That's true about the nissans, but some cars were built with turbocharging in mind and others were built with no FI in mind. Look at a WRX, there blocks are monsters when it comes to turbocharging, you don't need to rebuild for strength even after some turbo upgrades. Being NA is fun, a way to look at it is getting the most power out of 0psi

but this is getting too GDD now, and i don't want Mods who are on a rampage to substract points, so ill just let this be.

StorminMatt, I see where you're soming from. Nevertheless, if all one wants is power then you can't deny that turbo is the most cost/weight effective way of making large amounts of it. It might not command the same respect or "credibility", but not everyone is about that.

I personally prefer the sound of high rpms over turbo. However, given the choice between two motors, the NA making 200whp and the turbo 300whp....I still really don't know what I want to do, but sometimes you have to push emotional attachments and social values aside for the logical choice.

i like "natural aspirated" cuz its fun to see the look on ppl's faces when you take it 9.5K++.

And when you tell the humbled owner of a 99 Ws-6 that you didnt hear a BOV cuz I dont got one.

Then they call you on Nawzz, and you tell them, "go, ahead, look for it."
Those are pricless facial expressions that equal "respect."

Because you can tell them it is just i/h/e and they can't prove a damn thing.
