I havent installed my system yet because I am geting my body done first. I have:
1.Blaupunkt Honolulu cd50 deck
2.Clarion DPX 1000.2 amp (1ohm)
3.(2) Audiobahn AW1206T subs
4.Ported box that takes up 75% of my gutted crx rear

Just wondering if you guys think my system will be any good? Im not looking for db numbers, Im ust looking for bass when I drive, not going into competitions or anything. WIll it be good? The deck was free, should I get a better one?

dump the audiobahn's and you'll be straight

 

1100 watts rms, cant go wrong, I love the look of em as well inverted in my box.

Will they pump or not?

 

you may want to invest in some nice front speakers and an amplifier.

deck power / stocks speakers and tons of bass sounds pretty weak.

 

I have some apline 6.5 in the front and nothing in the back because my rear is gutted. I have a shitty amp I could run them to but dont wanna take away from the power

 

yeah audiobahn worried about being totally bling bling and dont care about SQ. audiobahn is a big get some jl's or somethin, RMS is nothin when you got **** commin outta the subs.

 

lol jl's are the most overpriced pieces of **** in the world. People buy em for the name. I had 2 10" w3's and they were descent with my amp but hooked to my friends solobarics that cost him 100 bucks a sub less and his were louder, no thanks. JL

I got both my audiobahn AW1206T's for 250 bucks, my 2 jl w3's were 450 and these audiobahn look and sound better...... hmmmmmmmmm

 

look better? who cares... sound better? get your ears checked... audiobahns WONT last as long as jl's and like i said, more money was spent in the DESIGN of its LOOKS. not the engineering behind its sound quality and durability. now jl... their subs arent about looks, they are all about what comes outta the sub. jl for listening, audiobahn for bling blingin...jus my 2 cents

EDIT: oh yeah by the way, i ran 2 jl 8 inchers (dont remember the model) off of a 1000 watt amp and holy ****... ive never heard any 8 inch subs sound so good before. audiobahn cant compare to what jl can accomplish from even measily little 8's

Well, your sub amp is probably exceeding your alternators' output, so one more amp, for the fronts shouldnt hurt.

trust me, big sub amp and non-amp fronts =

that's completely based on opinion, JL isn't overpriced by a long shot, 2 12 w3's would out slam any 2 kickers and add sound quality given the proper enclosure, you musta had a shitty box

had my box tuned 2 33hz and I think 2.2 cubic feet per chamber in a ported box in my crx. They definetely were good subs just not worth what I paid

 

get some rockford power hx2s. and a bigger amp.

Rockford Hx2's are lame, IMO. Heard one in my friends car, he thought it was sweet but then again he drives a cutless '85 Oldsmobile. I wasn't impressed.

I think all the subs everyone is talking about all suck ***. All you have to do is go get 1-12" Diamond Audio MD6 and a Boston 500watt amp and you will dominate most everything out there. This is what I have in my 2002 SI. The whole set up cost me $1200 and it puts out 161.4 DB's. You can't beat that with only on sub

 

like you said, you paid 1200. I paid 525 and I hit a 149.3 ON THE NEW MICS. Youd prob be around a 150 flat if not lower and I paid 700 bucks less and I feel there perfect for me cause I dont even enter competitions

Get two 12's JL w3 D4 , wired together with an Autotek 2300.
Enough juice to shake the dishes in your house.

I don't want to discourage you but those subs are not "all that" I think that any sub you can buy at circut city or bestbuy isn't too great, but I think that rockford subs are over rated. JUST MY OPINION.

If you think that JL Audio stuff is OVERPRICED, you should stay with Audiobahn because you obviously haven't got a clue what is going on. Audiobahn is car audio flea market junk.

 

YOU WANT IT LOUD ....GET 1 GOOD 15'' SUB INSTEAD, AND FIBERGLASS AN ENCLOSURE OUT OF THE SPARE TIRE WELL. PUT AT LEAST 500 WATTS TO IT AND IT'LL BE LOUD. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. (KICKER COMP VR 15''.....AUDIOBAHN 1300 CLASS D AMP) EASY 150.DB LOOKS NICE , SONDS DECENT SAVES A LITTLE SPACE FOR OTHER THINGS.
