Alternator Dying?

For the last couple of days, when I start up my B16a/CRX, the 'battery' icon on the cluster (alternator) stays lit until I drive the car for awhile. It turns off at high revs but comes back on at low revs until it finally stays off after about 15-20 minutes of driving. If I disconnect the battery while the icon is lit, the car shuts off so I'm sure it's the alternator. Also, if I disconnect the alternator while the car is on, the light will shut off.
Should I get the alternator repaired or replaced? If I get it repaired, does anyone know for sure, reading this post, what part is bad - diodes, regulator, etc?
Thanks!

Much less expensive usually to replace the alternator outright. Could be diodes or even brushes. You need to have the batery tested as well to be sure there are no shorted plates inside. The alternator for a Honda should put out 14.1-14.4 volts while charging. The typical battery voltage with the engine off should be 12.7-13.2. Battery life is also something to consider.
Good luck
