Im boosting a y7 and love it. For the money you can be faster than a GSR swap in a comperable car. It is not pointless to me and I'd just like to add.
Hi, I'm Sean, and I'm addicted to boost.
EDIT: Im running the TiAL bov and like it...don't get a BOV based on it's sound for gods sake though. I picked the TiAL because its 50mm (I think..can't remember right this second) and would dispell enough air for my tastes!!

My buddy has a 98 Civic EX with a greddy kit at 12 psi (stock head and internals) that lays down 212 hp at the wheels. PM "Black Noise" if you want specific information.
search u will find the answer to all your questions. u can make as much hp as a b16a swap for about 1000 bucks with a turbo. hondatuning mag made 167whp with only 6psi with a mistu t25 turbo. and it was like for 500 bucks. read up on it and u will learn everything. also get the book maximum boost by coury bell. very helpfull im hoping for atleast 250 whp out of my d16z6 turbo project.

Maximum Boost is the best $25 you can spend on your custom turbo.

No, it's not pointless, they can be very quick. Plus if you happen to blow a D-series, you can pick up another one for like $200. Try that with a B-series

Sounds good. Do you go to Bradenton Motorsports to race ever?

There is a ton of potential there man....my friend has a turbo ex and it runs like crazy. Now his **** is bored and built as well so really it all depends on how much money you want to lay down. You could easily find a swap for what you going to drop in a buying a kit and installing it. I just went form turbo to naturally aspirated and let me tell you this......turbo cars are high maitenance and if you dont know how to work on them they can be frustrating. I just put a type r motor in my civic and it runs strong and is a blast to drive. Turbo is awesome but vtec is a such an adrenaline rush.....it really depends what you prefer. Good luck man

I would def boost the SOHC. motor. Like others have said there is a lot potential and if you pop the motor they are cheaper to repalce then a DOHC.

I would personally do a drag or some sort of custom turbo. That way when you want to up the boost the kit doesn't interfere.
