JB weld on radiator....any suggestions?????????
ok. This is my last attempt at fixing my radiator. Money is tight and i really dont want to buy a new one for this little crack and im tired of refilling it every week or so. What do yall think?? Should i try it or is it not even going to work? Need to know now cause im about to apply it.
My bro did that on a very small crack on the radiator so i'd say it's worth a try. My GF on the other had melted what looks to be JB weld on her radiator too. I don't really know what it is since she got it used.
i just did this.......i used JB quick weld on a hairline crack at the top of the radiator......it slowed down the leaking but it still is leaking.......gonna pin point exactly where it is leaking and put a little more on today......i let you know if it solves the problem or not.........by the way mines leaking from the plastic part so i don't know if it will work if its leaking from the metal
you can do it as a band aid type fix, but do yourself a favor and start saving now for a new radiator, and always watch your gague.
check your fluid level daily.

yeah, i have a hairline crack on the top as well. Well, it looks like more yes then no responses. So im headed down to the car and trying it. I will let you know how it goes.
you bound to get a new one anyway. i tried holding out on getting a new radiator too and it was a hassle... always checkin to see if you got water and adding water. it was just a hassle. and like samagon said, repairing it is just a band aid fix. just get new one. just my 2cents......
well, JB in place and waiting for results. I dont have to drive the car till tommorow morning for school at 10 so i think thats enough time for it to set up. It isnt quite as easy as i thought it would be but none the less. After a painstaking 15 minutes of carefully trying to get that stuff on its there. I realize that ts a temp. fix guys. Please dont flame me over that. Some of you guys might not realize that all of us cant drop xxx amount of $$ at the drop of a hat on car stuff. Weather it be repair or modification I really do want to replace it and i absolutly hate doing things 1/2 ***. But, under the circumstances i have to get smart and be realistic and try to save allittle cash. I will let everyone know how iit goes.

I had the same problems, but i had a 3 inch hairline crack on the bottom of my old radiator way back when. I used JB weld, and it held for a couple days. But then it started to leak again. It will leak because the coolant started eating through the JB weld.

let me tell you about junk yards in SC. Well, first off there are lots of them. Lots of old cars here in this state. Especially around here. The cloest Acura dealership is about 150miles whatever direction you head. So there arnt that many acuras around here, let alone ones to wreck. I did however find one in greenville....(about 5 hours away) and the best price i could get out of him was $175. I can get it from http://www.radiator.com for 186 including overnight shipping. So, its harder then it sounds especially when you liive in an area where these cars arnt popular at all.
