Uhmmm i don't think the gas pedal cover or the rubber thing can be removed. If you're putting a pedal cover on it, just put it on as is, don't remove any cover for the gas pedal only.

actually the mugen pedals I got require removal of the covers. THe clutch and brake cover came off easy since it was soft rubber. but the gas pedal cover is hard plastic or something

In this order, try: pull harder, pliers, knife, blowtorch

YES. You have to rip it off. Try pliers and start on a corner. You might bend the metal a little - be careful.

good God I finally have it off!! **does a small but shameless victory dance** I've been at it for hrs, although almost entirely using a futile method. Thanks for the help guys. I finally used a wire cutter and snipped wildly at the one of the tabs till it got chewed enough to be able to be pulled back. I don't think I'll be able to use it again. It looks like a pitbull went nuts on it. Boy I'm tired

Just came to this thread. If u were like me and don't care about using the plastic cover again, cut it in half with a drywall saw, then take a screwdriver and stick it in the gap to pry each side straight off. Took me about 5 mins and no effort.
