Default Amp doesn't play any sound, but turns on. Wiring is good..??

I'm trying to hook up an amp that I traded my HID's for...I don't have the owners manual or anything.

It's a PG XS6600....

Amp turns on, but it won't play any sound on any of the channels.

I know the wiring is good because when I swap it out for my Alpine MRV F340, everything is gravy.

When I hook up the output lead to my speakers from the amp, I can hear a faint buzzing/distortion sound, but that's it. It doesn't get any louder or softer if I play with the volume.

Is the amp bad?

I notice there's a 'crossover defeat' pushbutton on each of the stages..front, rear, sub.

Where the button should be for the front, there's nothing there...it's just a hole and I can see into the amp. Could this be messing it up? Should there be a button here?

I'm pretty angry right now, so hopefully one of you guys can help me out.

Sounds kinda funky, bring it to a car audio shop that can bench test it and get it fixed if you have to. I had an amp fixed once and it ran me like 50 bucks.

Well if it needs any type of fixing, I'm going to ask for my HID's back at his shipping expense....I'm beyond broke. I can't afford anything.

He said it's got a Car Toys warranty or something of the sort, but he hasn't sent me the receipt for it yet, or the owners manual.

if you switched it out with another amp and the other amp works then your PG is bad. and yes there should be a button there.

Well that's what I was afraid of.

I can't see any reason why the crossover defeat button would be broken off...that's just careless I guess.

Hopefully it won't be a hassle getting my HID's back from the guy.
