Default Integra Owners

For those of you who have upgraded your speakers.............I know that the front stock speakers are 6.5 components, but did any of you put 5.25" in instead? I have heard that there are some depth issues with the 6.5's. Also, how do the 5.25's fit? Did you have to do any modification? I just want to unscrew the stockers and put in the new ones, will I be able to do this with 5.25's? Thanks in advance.

that's what I did in my teg. I went with the JL XR 5s (later found out the 6 was the same depth). I used a 3/4" mdf spacer (spray paint it black so you don't see it through the grill cloth. Everything fit great.

I have a 99 sedan and everything that I have read says 6.5..........granted, I haven't taken the stockers out yet, but I am 99% sure I will find 6.5's in there.

my assumption is the speaker setup is just like that I had in my 98 civic. The depth issue is the plastic basket (again assuming). if so, you have to cut it... you do in every honda to get the speakers to fit... The only speakers that will fit w/o cutting are like Pioneer, since they are the ones that make most of honda's speakers. Other than that, the only other limitation is the glass its self which is in there a good ways.

I put Fosgate Fanatic P's (6.5") in my fronts. Depth was a problem, but all I had to do was flip the black plastic spacer that was included with the speakers and put that between my speaker and the basket. This gave me the extra room I needed for the speakers to clear. No cutting or modifying at all. Works perfect. Hope that helped.
