turbo question

Default turbo question

ok well here the situation...i just got a turbo kit...and i'm suppose to go get my car tuned 200 miles away for hondata...they're going to make me a base map so i can just get down there w/ no boost...how can i keep the wastegate open so i wont build any boost....or is there anything else i could possibley do so the turbo wouldnt build any boost..thanks!

just dont floor it and you will be fine. if you see yourself hitting boost just let off the gas a little. if you drive normaly, you should not have a problem at all. it's harder then you think to drive like a grandma though.

it is hard not to hit it but as long as you dont load up the motor or go more than 35-40% throttle you should stay in vaccuum and ok.

boost gauge is key to this driving and plan more time getting places. gradually accelerate to speed.

but if i'm on the highway going 75mph, my car would be at 4k, will that make boost....at that rpm?

no...its all about throttle...if you are at 4k it doesnt matter...if you slam your foot down...you will boost...drive like a granny...dont slam on the gas to get in lane...be cautious about getting in lane, and merging...as long as you dont shove your foot down you should be okay...just keep an eye on your boost gauge and the VAC and you should be fine...just dont stomp your foot down

And also, the base map is going to be on the safe side. Even if you accidently boost a little it'll be fine, probably just run really rich.
