h23a block w/h22a head?
Trending Topics
yyeap. h23 will give mad torque w/v-tec h22 head. are there any holes that need to be drilled in the block or? if anyone can give me the details on the head swap it would be greatly appriciated.
I don't know much about that procedure. I doube the extra 0.1 liters of displacement will make a substancial difference in torque over the H22.
If this was an easy/reliable swap, I'm sure a lot of people would do it. I know A LOT of hybrid people, but no H23 VTEC guys. It must be a bitch.
160 HP ain't bad dude.

i know 160hp isn't that bad, but still i want more...More...MOre... MORe...and MORE.
at least 200hp. well will the SH 97 motor fit in the 4 GEN? that would be nice. any info on that would alot of help along the way

..the SH swap would be a bitch. Since the atts system includes a funky shaped bell housing that makes mounting and position the motor very awkward. Plus, the ATTS system becomes an entirely new nuisance in and of itself once you begin heavily modifying the motor; bleeds boost in FI apps, wont work w/ obd 1 p13, etc.
Also, the h23 and h22 block are identical, yes they are. What varies is of course the head as well as the crank and rods. But, what I am not sure of is if the h23 block has appropriations for the oil squirters found on the h22 block. So, the head would fit w/out mod. but you would have to provide an external oil line to the head. Also, h23/h22 hybrids have consistent problems w/ valve damage, since the rod/pistons arent exactly suited for the vtec cams and head, since the dimensions and motor geometry vary from the h22. Longer rods, differnt pistons, and worse rod ratio.
By the way, I know someone selling a 00 h22a4 motor/swap minus the tranny w/ 5500 miles for ~ $3k, if your interested email me @ jdmbb6@yahoo.com
Also, I can put you in touch w/ someone that has built the h23/h22 motor.
