Nitrous question
Ok, I have been reading up on nitrous systems and it seems a lot of the systems activate when you hit full throttle instead of pushing a button. IE: zex, venom and what not. Now my question is, is when you launch when you're racing aren't you hitting full throttle? So would that mean the nitrous is getting injected in first gear as soon as you start the race? I'm really confused on this...can someone explain to me how this works ...
im not sure but i think you have to flip that pilot switch in order for it to activate. my friend has it and he usually flick the switch right before he goes into 2nd.
Ya I forgot to mention that..but what's the point of that...cause all the advertisments say stuff like "don't waste time fooling with switches and stuff..." and then you have to flip a switch..I know you have to turn it in but is there any way to tell it to activate in a certain gear?
usually the kit is wired into the TPS and will activate when your foot is to the floor. You have to arm it by turning it on and it will only spray at full throttle. When leaving the line at the track you don't need to spray in first gear (on street tires) because you will just spin at the line and get a **** 60ft. If you’re clutched and have slicks use it off the line dump it and go. Just make sure that it's not armed when doing your burnout.

I sprayed in first... When I launch, I'm not just mashing the throttle, you feather into the power, then full throttle it in first, eat up second.. and go from there...
I miss dat stuff.... 14.2@ 96.6 on a stage 1 clutch, street tires and a stock z6, I/H/E.. in a sol...

Exactly what this guy said. You should have the pedal on the floor when your launching unless youre on some good slicks. On street tires you would be at full throttle about the top of first. I sprayed my car from first and just speed shifted to second and it worked nice. Ran a 13.5 on street tires. Also yes you have to arm the system by flipping a switch first then i had a switch under my gas pedal for full throttle operation. Nitrous is fun. I miss it.
