Default uberdata website ---chip sharing and maybe even chip burning for a very small price

This site was done w/ permission by the writer/creator Blake.

This site's main purpose is for people to be able to download map's that others have done and hopefully be able to use them with slight modifications.

How this will run is as follows: Once a member has finished a map and has it so that it is working correctly they will email me their bin file with a description of the motor, turbo, injectors, fuel pump, and all information. as much as you can give me i will take. Also any pictures you have of the car will also be used on the site. I only want 4 max. If you would like you can add your H-T username, email, AIM, ICQ...so on and so on...or you can be listed under a chosen user name or your real name if you dont want to be emailed/imed by millions asking questions or "what should i do now?"

hopefully people will be willing to send me their maps and info so we can get this site up and running.

Another idea i had was...if someone is willing, we buy a bunch of chips and a user can have a premade chips or send their map to the person with the chip burner and we burn the chips for a small price...such as the cost of the chip plus a few bucks and whatever profits we make we split 50/50 with Blake for making such a kick *** program. This also helps users so they dont have to buy a chip burner for 1 chip...Chip reburning im not sure about....THIS INFO COULD BE WRONG: but i believe that you can reburn on the same chip...so if you just mail it to us...we will just recharge you the few bucks to reburn the chip. the only reason there would be a charge b/c it does take some time and effort to do this...and if someone just burned chips for free...their burner might die from excessive use and he doesnt even have a way to pay for a new one...all that b/c he was doing a favor. so whats $5-10 plus the price of a chip when it comes down to making your $3000 turbo system work kick ***.

Thanks,
Ross

PS...a few users have started doing this already...i would like to not have any competion between the sites b/c thats not what i think this program is about, so i think we should def. arrange some sort of co-op site. i have PM'd you already...now that i have this more "official" write-up maybe we can start working out the details.

Temp site is listed below...i plan on keeping it very text oriented for 56k users.

I have hosting capabilities.. However, if anyone here is Ben Moore, it would be much easier to get the sight going, as he is the owner of the domain.

That one is available!
I could purchase the domain if we get enough folks that want to collaborate on it.

Who will do quality control on the maps? I forsee users who don't know what they're doing blowing their engines.

Instead of offering ready made maps, why don't interested users collaborate on a resource that teaches ppl how to TUNE.

The example that comes to mind is the "mugen" chip floating around with 50 fuel cut in the last 3 colums. The one that will melt pistons.

Have sections for tuning tech: general theory, practical appliation, links, etc.
Hardware tech: where to buy burners emulators, tricks, etc.
And then maybe have a COUPLE of standard basefiles, and then have roms that are BASED off of those, so you can compare it to a baseline, etc.

in my eyes i dont think people will be sending maps that suck to **** up other people's car. Plus if someone just buys the burner and just downloads some map and says "lets go boost all over town" without having it checked out or making sure their A/F is correct...thats pretty stupid on their behalf. im pretty ignorant on this subject...thus the reason i want to be a webmaster over someone who controls the burning and making of maps...but i think if someone has the same turbo, same fmic, same waste gate, same fuel pump, same injectors, and same motor....the same map should work well for both cars....

Not if one of them lives in colorado and one of them lives in sandiego. Atmosphere will play a role in tunning.

QUICK UPDATE!!!!

This is a conversation Blake and I had:

Blake: hmmm
Blake: i dont wany any domain names or any of the sort, my website is almost finished
Blake: and i already finished the scrollbars version. I have a few other enhancements i want to make b4 i release it tho
Bigwig: ok...i didnt suggest domain names...that was other people...i just wanted to make a small site for people to post their working maps and let some people that dont care if its 100% perfect...but good enough to plug and go...or make very small alterations..
Bigwig: is your site gonna have something like that?
Blake: yes, it will have an uplaod script and stuff
Bigwig: so do you want a temp site or what...its your program...its your call
Blake: i rather not have people wasting their time :/
Blake: i dont mean to sound like an ******* or anything, but i dont really want sites moderated and controlled by other people to be overseeing my stuff...
Bigwig: i agree...the only reason i even started making a site was b/c a lot of people dont really know how to make a program...so like having a program made...it would kinda show what a map should like like for a paticular setup
Blake: ic
Bigwig: like i dont know how to use your program especially...so if i were to see someone w/ the exact same engine, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, ic, and the whole deal...most likely if i plug that map in...it would work for my car right?
Bigwig: and do you want me to post something saying people shouldnt bother w/ making a website b/c you want to handle your own program and dont want people to be wasting their time and you do not want a domain after this program...
Blake: yes
Blake: and yes

I'd be intersted in the tuning information, as well as being able to pay someone a fee to get a burned chip sent to me.
