Im going turbo soon, And im going to run right at 10 psi on a sohc dseries. I cannot decide whether to run the y8 or the a6 head. I know that after boost vtec basically becomes non-exsitant right? And i hear the a6 flows better. So im leaning towards putting springs, ti-retainers, and a decent cam in the a6 and running that over the y8.

what would everyone suggest?

i say get the Z6 head....
IMO i personally feel that it flows better with eve a mild port and polish....

 

but i already have the y8.

well i would defenetely use the Y8 on it!

the squensch areas will be good for a good air/fuel mixture and prevent some detonation!

 

if ya got it, use it.

 

Y-8 with the combustion chamber shape altered. Blend the sharp edges back into the head a little to prevent hot spots.
