Front fork pinch bolt stripped out...should I worry?
So I put my Skunk2's on the front of my CRX (rears won't fit over my shocks, whole 'nother story) and the pinch bolt on the passenger side fork (and the threads in the fork itself) stripped out when I removed it. I put it back in, and it does thread in, but at the end it turns and turns. It grabs at one point and at another position it's easier to turn - I left it at the grabbiest point of course.
I'm wondering if this is risky and needs immediate replacing. Can the shock actually slip out of the fork even though the fork is held in at the bottom and the shock is held in at the shock tower?
Thanks for the help -
Alex

I'd replace it. I think there would be a possibility of the strut coming out of the fork during suspension travel. Better to be safe than sorry.
same thing happened to me... the bolt stripped and before i noticed it i had already put thread marks on one of my yellows
... luckily it wasnt too bad... and if they arent tight i doubt they would actually come out of the fork but they can bounce up and down in the fork and make the ride harsher

I have that same problem on my 89 hatch, but i got the car that way. It turns out the previous owner just put a regular slightly undersized bolt through the fork with a nut on the backside. It works fine.
