what would it take for a d16z6 to hit 150-160whp?
i was thinking of doing a b18b swap this summer but figured i could have some fun with the sohc. I just bought a 95 4dr civic ex.
From research I have discovered that:
a6 pistons
Port and polished head
crower stage 2 or 3 cam
springs retainers
i/h/e
adj cam gear
light flyweel
clutch
vafc
y8 intake manifold
will net a decent setup
Anything else im forgeting?

You'll need higher compression pistons than the A6's...
DX (d15b7) pistons are a flat top design, and should bump you into the mid 11's I think. You'll need more than a 10:1 CR.
Also drop in a B-series 60mm T/B (must portmatch the Y8 manifold for this to flow perfectly)

d15 pistons in a 1.6 block would sit out of the hole. not good.

which ones, i heard there are two different ones for 87 and 88-89
but i also heard that the compression ratio would be in the 13's
which might be a little high to drive on 93 octane

the 89-90 A1 pistons are the one to get, they knock your compression ratio up to almost 13-1. with proper tuning, and engine management you can run it on the street with no problems, and obliterate B series cars
thats the problem, weight, i have a 4dr
i just want something fun and more reliable than a turbo.
