What is Canada Turbo Emissions Test?

Here is Vancouver, all we have is AirCare.

 

we have nothing that i know of here in alberta..

 

give the guy a $50 and be over with.

 

We have Drive Clean in Ontario. Lots of turbo hondas pass, just have it tuned part throttle and a clean idle.

 

I too live in O-Town and have my test comming up soon. I honestly think that I will just intentionally fail and pay out the 200 or whatever. Cause right now I have no cat and don't wanna spend the time to put it on and then still fail.

On a side note my car seems to run kinda rich and not emissions friendly.

I know the title is stupid I didnt know what to write

Anyways I am going to have my car turbod this year, I have a built d16 motor and Im having trouble deciding if I can just do what I want to do and run open downpipe and open dumptube, or if I have to make a full on exhaust system for my car with a cat and the whole nine

I know it wont "legally" pass emissions but Im sure getting through that problem wouldnt be to difficult..... right?

But when Im on the road... Will cops notice? Or will they think im just another honda with an exhaust? Or do they physically look for a cat? Im in a fairly small resedential area but OPP is present

I just wanna know if the cops will care or even check me. I can always make a fake 2" tip coming out the back

putting a turbo on is not illegal. the inspectors don't care for whats under the hood.

just as long as the vehicle has a cat-converter, a proper exhaust system with no leaks and a gas cap then the vehicle is ok to test. now will your car pass.......thats up to the ECU tune you have....

 

My new question isnt anything to do with having an inspector pass me, im "paying" for a good e-test, I know I wont pass becuase I want to run open downpipe and open dump tube

Now I wanna know if cops are going to be looking for a cat if I am ever pulled over...... I do get pulled over sometimes with this car, but im n/a right now

Its a small town, never been asked to pop a hood oranything, i wanna know if there hitting strong and loking though

 

ya some cops look for the cat......most have no idea what they are looking for anyway.

but if you get one who does notice the cat missing your in for a pretty big fine.....

 

Running turbo open down pipe is so loud, don't think any cops will let you go whatever you told him about honda/acura loudness.

Put an exhaust on, your small town will thank you for it.

 

Yeah I didnt thnk most cops knew about what to look for, but I do drive around a lot just in town, I just wanna know how big of a risk im taking and how often i will be asked to pop my hood, or is that only in huge towns
