im in the market for a component set. and of course for a reasonable price.
i came across the....

infinity 605cs 6.5 components
boston pro series 6.5 components
focal polyglass 165v2 6.5 components

i havent owned a set, but i have installed a few sets at my shop and they're pretty bad sounding speakers. the mids are horrible and the way it sounds is anything but good. they sound like they echo. bad mids overall.

the only focals i would reccommend would be the polyk or the utopia, even then theyre a lil on the bright side for me.

no idea on the other two, but I have Boston Pro 6.5s.. I'm still tuning the system a bit, but overall I'm disappointed in the Boston's for the sound I've gotten out of them..

I have JL VR's man, they're ******* awesome, there's no distortion in them anywhere, and they're priced rather fairly

A friend of mine runs a set of perfects and they sound really good.

He bridged a zapco amp and they were seeing like 150W each and handled it well. I reccomend them.

I am looknig into getting CDT's HD series though. I hear mixed response about them, but you gotta trust what you think you can make them sound like!

Whats up!? I like the Diamond Hex also. The 3 way is awesome. I am Diamond, Eclipse, Image Dynamics, Memphis and Pioneer Premier dealer in Memphis, Tn. I have owned MB Quarts and Bostons before and found that the x-overs are weak and the tweeter was too bright. The best thing to do is listen to all of them and pick out the sound you are looking for. I prefer a soft dome tweeter over metal. If you listen to rap the metal tweeter may sound better to you. If you listen to something with heavy vocals a soft dome tweeter has more detail.

I can vouch for all the Focal equipment. Honestly is some of the best that I have heard. Really all depends on the listener--- some people think the TN45's and TN51's are too harsh, but I just can't get enough of them. My wife loves her 136k set--great midbass, crazy midbass actually! I have owned multiple sets of them--3-way kit, 6.5 set and 5.25 set. If you don't like focal speakers then you must not appreciate sound.

I personally like MB's, Eclipse then Image Dynamics. They are all high quality **** that will last for a long azz time but will cost a few extra dollars. If you are going the economic route, in my personal experience, I think that boston is below infinity. But then again the last time i took the economical route was about 5 yrs ago. I'm not sure of focal. I've heard a lot of good about them.
At the current time I have ALL Eclipse speakers/subs except for my amps and caps. and love them.

Someone else on these boards asked the question about MB vs. Focals. Scroll through and read that one to see what other people said about those two brands.

take a look at MMATS Profesional... I have a pair of 6.5" coax's, they come with an external X-over, and sound just as good, if not better than a componet set. They are a lot easier to install, since you don't have to mount a tweeter, plus they are consienient source (sound comes from the same place) wich has some sound Q advantages... they are not too much either, I paid $199 for them, and couldn't be happier!!
