What Type of Primer and Paint for Valve Cover Painting?
Just wondering what type of brand ect of promer you used. Also is Hi-Temp paint really necessary? It doesnt get that hot on the Valve cover and you only really need HT paint on exhaust manifolds and such. So what do you suggest? Also what brand of paint should I use?

You dont have to use super high temp paint... Any automotive quality paint will work. Use any automotive primer on it. Use aircraft coating remover to remove the wrinkle finish, will take it down to the metal, you dont really need to use a primer, just strip it with aircraft coating remover, then sand it down a little and ptu a few coats on paint on it.

Yes, I'd recommend using high temp paint. I stripped it with aircraft coating remover, then used 5 coats of engine rebuilder's cast grey...can be found at any advance auto parts location. I'm waiting to redo a new one in wrinkle red.

What did you guys use for the letters and H logo? I know about Vaseline and stuff like that but it is really tricky. Also using tape can peel the paint when you remove it. Should sandpaper be enough to clean off the tops of the lettering?

Sand it off then polish it with some Wenol then clear it. It'll look real good then.
