Quick Question: 16valve=dx head?
the HF, otherwise known as D15B6, is an 8 valve engine with flat top pistons that have 2 valve reliefs per piston (MPFI). the D15B1/D15B2 are 16 valve DPI engines with 16 valve-valve reliefs. an interesting fact however, is that the D15B8 (92-95 CX) has an 8 valve head, but with 16 valve valve reliefs on the pistons, leading to the slightly lower compression its rated at. If someone were to confirm that a VTEC head's valves would clear the HF's pistons with missing valve reliefs, you could slap a VTEC head on a D15B6 block and have even higher compression than with a normal flat-topped D15 mini-me

Yes. But it was never available on an actual Civic. Only a CRX.

It is entirely possible that someone may have Dremelled valve cutouts on HF pistons.
