Default 00' si transmission problem.... help

i have a 2000 si with 60k miles, and reciently it has been making weird noises when you downshift, i thought the throwout bearing was going out, then this last week it has been popping out of 2nd gear while driving.... then today, i was in my garage on a flat surface, i put it in reverse and started to pull out, when i pulled out i pushed the clutch in and the car just came to a dead halt on a slanted driveway, WITH THE CLUTCH IN! , someone please help me with any ideas on what the exact tranny problem might be.

do you think it will be a full rebuild? i am just exploring my options, i have these options:

a. buy a low milage used one from ebay or a forum.
b. buy a refurb from h&a transmissions for $800.00.
c. have a local shop do the rebuild.

please help me...

thanks!

sounds like the clutch is not releasing. it wont dis-engage after you push the clutch in. i had this problem before. sounds like your clutch is shot, chances are your tranny is fine.

it's not the clutch, i can release the clutch and feel it start to grab, besides if it wasnt releasing it would continue to go in reverse, not bind up and stop at a dead halt, i know it's something internal in the transmission, but i want a better idea what it is and what it's going to cost to repair.

thanks for the help

try this put your car in high gear and try to take off around 2000 to 2500 rpm the car should cut off in a few second then your clutch is ok if not then you need new clutch. is the car going all the gears fine like smoothly no noise? if you have noise while in gear the you might have bad bearing.

cheaper to buy a better tranny than rebuild the one you got man. Grab an itr tranny and call it a day (LSD ownz)
