VTEC Soleniod is 14, and the pressure switch is 15 I believe...its hard to tell from the diagram.

First - I am trying to put a jspec b18c into my 92 cx.

Almost everyone on this board says i need a vtec solenoid but from the pic below i already have that.

This is a pic from my engine and to me that mean's i am missing the pressure switch.. Is that correct?

Can i just buy a switch and put it in?

It looks like the switch can go where that plug is in the pic.

Yes, you already have the solenoid.

JDM engines do not have an oil pressure switch. The JDM ECU's do not look for it, so even if you have it, nothing will happen.

Unless you are using a USDM ECU, there is no need for it, but i do not know about Euro ECU's if they look for the pressure switch or not...

I run the jdm vtec solenoid and no pressure switch, just wire them together at the ecu.

Good question, can't really answer that considering i'm running a p28. I'd assume it would read the same if it wasnt a p28, as long as both vtec wires are joined. Its basically tricking the ecu.

Think about it this way. What is the setup on the JDM engine.... ecu taking readings and only plugged into the Solenoid. So what is the issue with tricking the usdm ecu into doing the same, just activating when you tell it. The splice is just fooling the ecu into not throwing a code anyways.

think about it.

The car feels great (splitime's car), and no issues with VTEC.
Personally I'd do it the same way he is explaining.

Or just spend the 30$ and get a used switch/solenoid assembly

exactly, 30-50bucks or just .02 of wire and 5minutes to solder/tap it.
