Default MINI ME Swap in 89 si

I recently blew my head gasket for the second time this year. I have recently aquired a z6 head and am going to attempt the mini me swap. My question is, should I use a vafc controller or just go the cheap route and do a rpm switch? If I do a vafc controller, should I go with the first gen vafc or the new second gen one? One last thing, Is there any info out there on how to modify the distributer to mate to the head?

Thanks

y6? I thought there was just z6 and y8. the dizzy will need to be modified to fit the z6, but will mate right up to the y8 IIRC.

If you blew your head gasket twice this year something is wrong with your motor.
