Engine clicking?

Default Engine clicking?
The 'putt-putt' of my car is loud as hell now and I know my car needs a tune up so I got new belts water pump and stuff but what is the main reason for this and how might one go about making it stop?

maybe your valves need adjusting?? mine do because ive got a constant click click and thats what ive been told it is.

So it's nothing crazy-bad? I plan on rebuilding the motor anyway so would it be bad to just leave it like this till I got new stuff? Would it be bad to drive hard?
