Default Skunk stage 3's + GSR block+ls Crank+85mm bore

Trying to find a solution to my current problem, and i think i just found it.... a buddy of mine is selling his gsr block.... im going to buy it, sleeve it and put a ls crank in it....

I was going to sell my cams because they were a little to much for my b16... but now.... with this setup do you think its still overkill??? it will be around 12:5 compression too...

How high are you willing to rev?

Well, i know putting in an ls crank will limit my revs... but ill put a deck plate on the block.... and hopefully 9-95 revs

doesn't sound like overkill to me at all. i myself would just leave the gsr crank in there....don't think a 2.0 or 2.1 liter(whatever it calculates out to) will be in the need of an ls crank for extra torque..should be just fine in that category...good luck on the build..and those cams will love the compression..tuning is key though

I had the exact same setup on my car and I spun that motor up to 9500 RPM everytime I raced it
Very good setup

Thanks guys... It should be fun building it... I can't wait to put it in my pig of a car... I need alot more torque to pull this beotch...

use the ls crank, and 85mm pistons with .137 relocated wrist pins, then you can have the ls crank and still rev to 10,000 with no problems at all. Maybe a little bit more compression to go with those cams. maybe 12.7:1 and you'll be looking at a bad-*** motor..skip the deckplate too, that's really expensive...

Can you comment a bin more on this setup... what displacment would it be with the LS crank in a GSR and 85mm pistons??? aslo why relocating the wrist pins .137(I guess in.) would help the engine in reving potential???

it'll work good, ls cranks can spin to 10krpm if balanced correctly with all the other components. Use a good header with that setup ... have Enzo make you something good, he's in long island.

moving the wrist pin will give u a better r/s ratio

it gives you a bit better R/S ratio, but doing this will move horsepower up in the power band because of the way the piston will at tdc a bit more. this set up is real good and has been done on the streets, with every motor that has had that done run very well good luck on the build!

oh and skip the deckplate ( over kill ) get everything dialed in like compression and cams and how you will deliver fuel at high rpms.
