I have a similiar problem, only at low rpms however. So last friday, i did a compression check and it turns out cylinder #4 was at 110, when ideally, for 2nd gens, it should be between 156 and 128 psi. So, the clicking attributed with low cylinder compression leads me to beleive that its my valves. Most likely the same with you. Hope this helps.

normaly it's either that you need a valve adjustment, or you have a crack in your header.

I have this clicking noise, it was there before my engine build, and is still there after. My header was cracked, but I had it welded up. It usually goes away after the car is fully warmed up too. Kinda wierd, but I have no idea what it is.
