Default question for DragII...

I followed the link to your car specs and had a few questions about your turbo set-up. I have now narrowed my choices down to just some kind kind of Drag turbo kit and you have the same car that I do. First, what is the difference between the DragII and the DragIII, I can't find detailed specs on the internet. Second, did that fuel pump come with the turbo kit and have you thought of getting larger injectors? If so, what size would you go with? Thanks.

hehe...the only diff that I can tell between the drag 2 and 3 is manifold design, Yes the kit comes w/ a fuel pump, and yeah I'd go w/ some bigger injectors...prob 370s for low boost

any thing else???

Yeah, speaking of turbo manifold did you replace the one that came with the kit-I've heard the one that comes with it is not very good. If that's the only difference between the kits I will be replacing the manifold anyway. Thanks a lot Drag

While you're answering questions, I've got one since turbos aren't exactly my strong point. If I turbo my engine with plans to increase the boost in the future, can I just go ahead and get larger injectors and use the FPR to keep it at a low level for low boost? I assume you also need to upgrade the fuel rail when you add the turbo, but then I could be wrong...

no, keep you stock fuel rail, that isn't necissary, but yes you can use larger injectors at any time, but you'll want a vafc to tune em down.

1 quick thing...w/ turbos boosting under 12psi, you will probably be using an FMU not an FPR, the differance is that the FMU increases fuel pressure under boost only.

okay, thanks. I AM thinking big boost in the future, as in re-sleeved B18b or B20 with the pistons and rods and the whole 9 yards so I'm trying to think ahead.

1 more just to get you annoyed at me Maybe SOMETIME I'll get them all in one post... I have a very vague concept of what a BOV does and absolutely no clue what a wastegate does, could you fill me in?

hehe that's an easy one

BOV releaves the built up pressure in the intake pipe to keep it from pushing back on the turbine when you let off of the gas...because you don't want air pressure pushing your turbo in two differant directions.

Wastegate regulates boost pressure by opening up at the specified PSI and "bleeding" some boost off to keep the pressure at the desired level.

Thanks! So you actually use the wastegate to change the max boost pressure that can reach the cylinders?

DAMMIT! Here I go with more questions! this turbo thing is kinda growing on me... since it was mentioned in the first guy's sig, how does the Apexi turbo stand up against the likes of DragII and III, Fmax, Turbonetics and Greddy? I know that Greddy's probably gonna be the low end of the group. Thanks man, you're being a champ!

IMO the best kits for the money out there are the Drag, and Rev hard kits...I have a couple friends running 11's off basically the same setup as me.

I haven't seen much on the Apex kit...from what I gather, it's essentially the same as the greddy...I could be wrong about that one...
