I dont know anything about these Falkens for the winter...But I've heard nothing but good things about the Michelin Arctic Alpins in 195/55/15...Heard they're excellent for the conditions here in N.E. -$78 tirerack the last time I checked. Im getting these this winter. Also the Michelin Pilot Alpin's are supposed to be a serious winter tire also...but a lil higher priced than Arctic's. -this also avail. in stock size. suggest u check these out.

I highly recommend Bridgestone's LM22 Blizzacks for winter... higher speed rating, great in snow/ice and they actually surprised me in dry weather grip.
Last winter, I drove to school and work every day in my hatch on azenis. That was stupid. Semperit sport grips are supposed to be good from what I read.

I bought my first set of dedicated winter tires for the ITR last year. I highly recommend them for anyone living near the Canada/USA border or the north pole like me
I'm using Kumho KW15, costed me about $70/tire in 195/55/15. I mounted them on the stock wheels which are now dedicated for winters only.
I drove on the highway after a heavy snowfall (like 1.5 feet and none of which have been cleaned off of the road) and had no problems maintaining 60+ mph.

I drove a buddy's civic with blizzaks once in about a 8 inch snowfall and let me tell you, I was amazed. I think a pure snow tire is the way to go if you're somewhere where it can be justified. An all season tire will help, but I think you may as well spend the extra dough on a full bred snow tire. Besides, they last so long you can probably sell them if you don't use all the tread life.
I used those on a Del Sol last year with the shity New Englnad winter we had and they were fine. for the oney they are a great value. The best part is ou a get a bit of performance when there is not snow on the roads unlike the few sets of snow tires I have used over the years.
