Default CTR cams in GSR cam help needed!!!

Guys,
This has been briefly discussed before and I did a search with no help. Here are my questions...... I have a stock GSR motor and I want to put CTR cams in it. I am planning on keeping the redline stock at the moment, but I am trying to price out the valve train upgrades neccessary to rev higher. What is the most common setup and can someone give me an idea on prices? I was thinking ITR valves, Ti retainers and portflow springs. How is this setup? Also, how do the CTR cams take to the lower CR of the GSR's? Is it worth it to put new pistons in? BTW, I only have 50k on the motor(OBD1). I know I will need cam gears and a VFAC if I want to tune them, but will I need a FPR with the FPR? I plan on using my stock intake for the moment and when the money comes, go to the skunk mani. What do most people use for a ECU? Finally, what kind of power will this net me? Thanks in advance!

stock compression is ok...

springs, and retainers sound good, valves mayt not be necessary.

fpr should be added, vafc will only control % points, not major psi differences.

ecu - skunk or mugen.

power? i dunno... maybe 170 on a stock bottom end?

HTH

save yourself some money and get some type r valve springs. you aren't going to need to rev past that with those cams. You might even loose power with the portflows since they are stiffer. if you are goign to upgrade the cams later then go portflow.

I would also recommend a new ecu.

Does anyone have any dyno graphs of their cars with CTR cams? Also, where is the peak hp made? Are ti retainers neccessary?

How strong are the stock ITR retainers?

Peak power is probably around 8000, I would shift at 8600. itr valve springs should hold up to 9000 just fine.
