i need to buy a tranny pretty soon for my all motor lsvtec setup but dunno wich one if u guys can help me with sme information onwhich one to use it will be helpful

 

I have a B16 tranny on my ls/vtec. it was not my choice, but if i had to chose i would have gone with the type r. same gears, just has lsd, from what i understand. the only problem i have is that the gears are really short, great for racing, bad for cruising. it also depends on what you want from your motor, if you plan on going turbo, you might want to look into an ls tranny. the gears are longer, so you will not be shifting as soon as you hit boost. im sure this is not the first time this topic has been covered. look around and see what you can find

i would go with a itr or ctr tranny with a jdm 4.785 final drive if ur going to drive it everyday i would put an ls 5th gear so it would be like your overdrive when u drag it u wont need fth gear anyways.

b16 has closer gears than a gsr, so b16 a better choice for all motor

 

I've had both Y1 and YS1 trannies and they both perform well with my all motor set up. Either one you pick make sure that it has LSD, it makes a big difference. I'm not sure how accurate is this site but it lists B-series tranny info. Good luck.
