Default VAFC TUNING HELP...

We just installed a VAFC in my friends 98 integra GSR. Thus far he has 8mm plug wires, an intake, dc headers, and a re-piped custom exhaust. We are trying to get somekind of idea how he should set-up the "parameters of his VAFC. I know there isnt; gonna be some magically setting for every car but with out a Fuel pressure gauge/adjuster, Cam gears, or even an A/F gauge we have no idea how to setup the unit except maybe turning the VTEC on a little sooner. Anyone that has worked with their own OBD2 GSR let some ideas......

dyno tuning. That is the only way to do it.

Anything else is a waste of time, and could possibly even damage the engine if you tune something the wrong way.

obd2-obd1 conversion. the ecu will recongnize change and compinsate for the vafc correction. so a vafc will not do much good as of right now

you cannot use the settings from another car. Even if they have the same parts, every motor is different and responds differently to different settings.

please just dyno tune it.
How about -1 at 8000 rpm.

tune at the dyno. its the best way and the only way to get things correct. you can't possibly guess the right settings. great tuners have to do a couple runs just to nail things down completely. playing around with the vafc is only going to hurt your car.

I am just trying to set the vtec correction up properly so that the fuel is present when the vtec turns on earlier. We have it set at 4500 and i have the fuel corrected to 8% but i just set it back to stock. It Pulled harder but it seemed to pull even harder when vtec hit n the ecu at 5800..please help or is this hopeless.... =dyno...

you can use someone elses settings as a base line to start off with, but you can't just take their settings and call it perfect . . . . gota start some place.

so more or less it's useless to the car? I mean it's only realy soon mods include a skunk2 ntake manifold. So in other words even though he has an intake, headers and exhaust it can breath right and won't make power..that sounds fishy but...???

but i'm putting my gsr on the dyno this friday....
anyway.. the part that concerns me is obd-II taking over vtec x-over...

is this true-- will changing vtec be useless with the v-afc --obd2 ecu take over??
TIA

its not useless, it useless until u put it on a wideband o2 dyno and tune it. u should get a good 7-10 hp out of it by just tuning it, IMO
i never got my **** tuned either. but soon it will be done

I dont think it will do jack just put it all settings at 0 till you drop a turbo on there, IMO I wouldnt waste my money on a dyno id just keep saving for some serious whp.
