VAFC II tuning
I've looked around and did a few searches, but I'm coming up blank so I thought I would tap into the huge weath of knowledge that is the "All Motor forum"
Has anyone used the VAFC II to tune their car yet? I just got my Skunk2 stage2 installed and I'm trying to figure out weather I can just use the vafc II to tune it completely or if I should get myself a p28/p30 and ditch my JDM p72... The people at the shop that helped with the install recomend i get a p28 or p30 chipped with the skunk2 program... Any and all info will be helpfull!
Oh yeah and by the way, 6k-8.5krpm happens really ******* fast now and louder then I would really care for, but I wouldn't give it up if it ment loosing any of this new found power!

I would really take the car to a dyno to tune those cams. Those cams are really tempermental when it comes to tuning. As far as your tach goes, I used to rely on the stock tach in my 92 hatch until I put the new motor in. When I started to dog the new motor I noticed that the engine would run out of breath around 7000-7500 rpms on my stock tach. I checked my vafc and it reads 9500-9800 rpms!!! ( oh by the way, no rev limit), that tells me that my tach is off at high rpm. Hope this helps.

it's just the opposite with mine, my tach(stock vx cluster) reads 8k rpms and my VAFC II read 7400rpms....

The one I was told I need needs to be chipped for a DOHC vtec engine with a single stage intake manifold
Sounds like I am in a similar boat as you, except I cant figure out if I should get the P28 first, or if I should get a VAFC and get the car tuned. I do not have the budget to do both at this current point in time.
