Default To turbo the SOHC VTEC??????

I have been debating this for such a long time. It has come to that point where I want to go and blow all my saved up money.

My question is, should I spend all the money and swap in something like a b18c or b16 in place of the d16y8 and then save up again and turbo it.

Or should I turbo the Sohc VTEC motor.

Does anyone know the advantages of turboing a SOHC VTEC over a DOHC VTEC. I mean convince me to do one or the other. Is it worth it to swap in a higher output motor from the beginning and turbo it. Or should I just turbo what I have and go from there. Convince me to do one or the other. I only want to do this once.

BTW, it will most likely be a turbo kit, and im looking to put about 15 lbs into the engine.

I always say... that choice depends on two factors...

1) how much power you're looking for
2) how much power you can afford (main factor)

the dohc turbo will always make more power than a sohc turbo in the end so if you want to go all out... go for the dohc as long as u can afford it. if you're looking for decent power. a sohc with some rods, pistons, and proper tuning is a great setup for a street car.

Also if you do a swap consider the money
GSR swap will be around 3k. Turbo kit around $2,500 or so. $5500 total
SOHC VTEC complete swaps can be had for around $500. around $2500 for a kit, Benson sleeves, CP pistons, rods, assembled and blueprinted around $3000. Then tuning for both kits. your only around say $500 more for the built sohc and will be putting down more power... Only rough estimates. That's why I am staying sohc And if you don't build the sohc you can still put down 200 to the wheels reliably if it's tuned good. Just my $.02
