Help I got hit
I was on my way to vacation when some a$$ hole in front of me comes to a complete stop in the middle lane of the f***ing highway!!! I slam on the brakes and the integra power comes through stopping me about 6 inches from his bumper.
Thats when it gets bad....Im thinking holy sh*t that was close then I hear the sound of breaks locking up and wheels screeching. In my mirror I see an old ugly 626 slam into my bumper. We pull over and I see the damage a torn up bumper, ground affect(factory), and the right side of the bumper is bent down about an inch. when I got back from vacation I got an estimate of $1,450.
This is where I have my problem. I have a front bumper that needs to be repainted also(unrelated accident) A friend suggested that I get some aftermarket ground affects because that way I could replace both bumpers at the same time while still improving the look of my car. So I came here to get some help with my questions.
1. Would aftermarket ground affects be in the $1,450 price range?
2. Would they lower my ride height compared to the stock bumper and lip?

1. The parts themselves would come out below that, but ad on the cost of getting them painted and it adds up quick.
2. Yes it does reduce ground clearance. Some kits more than others, so do your homework if that's an issue.

If its not your fault..get an attorney.anyhow use the other guys insurance.
find a body shop that will "work" with you.. Hypothetical the "damage" could be higher..That means you could hypothetically get a new body kit. you need to factor in labor and the paint too..plus what about a car rental, time off from work, physical injuries...all I can say is that an attorney would be the best bet to get advice, plus they would only get compensated if you win....just my .02

Yeah but I was wondering how much lower it would be compared to the stock bumper and acura kit....I need to know this becuase i just barely clar my driveway how it is so i can't go that much lower
There was a little damage that caused the right side of my bumper to drop about and inch so it almost touches my exhaust...The only body work that is needed is to replace the rear reinforcement beam and the upper one also
next time don't go to the parts dept for an estimate, and if the cops weren't involved it doesn't matter where you were driving, unless your insurance cares where you drive, but if it is her fault, it doesn't matter there either.
best thing to do when you get your estimate, go to the most expensive body shop in town get the estimate there, usually a BMW body shop or something along those lines.
good luck getting it all straightened out!
