Hooking up MP3 player to EG hatch, CX model HELP!!!
I did a search, and came up with nothing... I just got in some 6.5's, and now its time to install the mp3 player. I got the harness that works with the 92 civic, but there are so many damn wires, does anyone have any good diagrams, or how tos? or any good info... thanks for anything guys...
so you just twist the color coded wires together? and the ones I wont use like subwoofer, and **** just leave them hanging?
there shouldnt be a wire for subwoofer, subs connect via the RCA jacks. the only two wires you shouldnt be connecting are Orange (illumination - most decks dont support this, but if yours does, connect it)
the other is dark blue. its called power cont. if you have an amp, youll connect this wire to the amp so that when you turn off your radio, your amp goes off too. if you dont have this wire hooked up, your amp will continue to draw power from your battery and drain it....
good luck.
also, i wouldnt recommend twisting them, id either solder or crimp them (crimps can be found at almost any store) you just put each end of the wire into this little crimp, and crunch that **** with a pair of pliers, makes for a much better connection.

i didnt buy an aftermarket amp, is there some sort of an amp that came with the car? sorry to sound so dumb, but this is my first audio install of any kind
your head unit (CD player) has an amp in it. i was talking about if you were runninga subwoofer with an amp. if you're just running your normal 2 or 4 speakers, just wire up the matching colored ones, the ones that dont have matches, just tuck away where they wont touch metal (wire to metal = bad) and it should work fine
kool, so just clamp the two front speaker wires together, and tuck the rest away... there is one labled ground, and its black, and another that is yellow, do i do anything with these? or just tuck them away also?
BTW, thanks a lot for the help...

connect everything that has a match, everything else just tuck away...make sure they dont get tangled in your HVAC controls or your A/C Slider might not work right
