Default HELP! my friend broke the head off the bolt on the control arm..what to do?!?!?

my friend brian was helping me install my new coilovers, when snap,he falls on the ground(that part was funny) he broke his rachet on the bolt causing the head of it to break off,it was on there pretty tight.I went to acura to see if they could look at it and the guy (of course was a dick) and said they didnt have time to look at it,since its under warrenty,i lied and said i was gettin a brake inspection when the guy noticed the bolt.SO since they didnt have time for me,i went into serive to order a new bolt,it comes in friday of all days. Now i just need to know how to get that bolt off without damaging anything, and how can i get the rest off that are stubborn and tight? its a 99 so i figured they wouldnt of been so hard to get off,any help will be appriciated.thanks

Not to be a dick, but do a search on "broke suspension bolt." I have seen this topic come up at least 5 times in the past 2 weeks on here. There should be plenty of info floating around.

Next time search on post bodies and not on post topics. You'll get more search responses.

Haha you know you did it. J/P You might need to drill it out. Next time spray down the bolts with some lubricant before trying to get em off and let em sit. Dont forgot to use anti seize when u put em back on.

Use some kroil. It'll unsieze any bolt if you leave if over night or a few days if necessary. It beats the hell outta WD-40

Heres the link http://www.kanolabs.com/

For the sheared bolt, just use this with a set of easy outs
You should have no trouble

Hey buddy, I have the solution for you. I had the SAME PROBLEM. I broke the head off the bolt and I drove around like that for 2 weeks. I asked everyone, they told me to knock it out with a hammer. Tried that, didn't work.

So I took it to MIDAS/MIENEKE where they had an AIR HAMMER. He put that thing up against it and hammered it out and it FLEW out so fast. Then I gave him the $10 bolt that I bought from the Acura dealership and bam, it was fixed

I had the same problem as you. I took it to a local hobby shop and tried to press it out. I instead pressed out the rubber bushings with the frozen bolts. Luckily, I knew this and I had new bushings. For the rest of the bushing, some dude took an air hammer and hammered the hell out of it. It's the last resort...and it will work, guaranteed.

Or if the bushings get ruined, you can buy two brand-new LCAs (complete with bushings for $65 from A&H Motorsports. I wish I did that...since the bushings alone cost more than half that price for me.

AUNIE GIRLY, HEY HOW ARE YA?
so this is a common problem, I dont feel like typing it all...
same old story too, lots of threads here on the subject.
try to see if the LCA to frame and LCA to hub bolts are stuck.. they commonly stick and break as well, the hub to lca that is....
you may want to get new lca's or new bushings or new bolts or have ashop do it...
it gets worse too let me tell ya, but I dont feel like spilling it...............

Gas torch, air ratchet, or easy out depending on how upset you are. Oh and keep your friend away from sharp objects!
