Default Which tranny is best for my LS??

Ok i have a 94 LS -stock- as of now....i might be needing a new tranny (read my previous post) so what would be the best to get? I dont want to spend a great deal of money, and i plan on turboing in 4-6 months. So just a stock LS tranny with an LSD?? please leave your suggestions on setups....i really need info asap, thanks!!!

buy another ls tranny if you find one, even then better have some $$$, that tranny is perfect for turbo, cuz it has longer gears so it leaves alot of room to open up

The LS tranny will allow you to stay in boost longer, which may or may not be a good thing. Personally, I would go for a GSR tranny and get an LSD. You'll have even greater pickup than with the LS, but you won't be taching the shizzle out of your engine on the freeway like you would with a B16 or Type R tranny.

A GSR, Si, or ITR tranny will show a significant difference over your LS tranny (more-so Si and ITR). Whether you are using forced induction or going NA, shorter gearing is going to give you better acceleration and get you there faster. Another possibility would be using a USDM ITR 4.4 final drive with your LS transmission, or even go to extremes and use the JDM final drive. I'm not real sure how the FD is compared to a b16 or GSR in performance, but it would definetely help. Hope that helped a little with your decision. Let us know how it turns out.
