Default LS tranny or GSR tranny??????

I have a 92 hatch with a 94 ls and 01 ls tranny....Later on I would like to boost...and I was wondering if I should keep the LS tranny or change it to a GSR or B16 tranns..... I know that the LS tranny has longer gears...so the why I look at it is that I can spoool for a longer time and have better aceleration.... Let me know what you guys think!!!

Shorter gearing = faster acceleration...ALWAYS
The whole thing about longer gearing being better for boost, is a myth.

This has been covered numerous times (including several times recently) - search and you will find more of the same information

No, i believe b16 tranny gearing is so short, that 5th gear will run out quicker than GSR... correct if im wrong

No, you're correct. But according to the first post in this thread, he's looking for better acceleration, not top speed. That said, allow me to quote this again:

Not to mention the fact that the B16 tranny is generally less-expensive and more easily obtained than a GSR.

Yeah but b16 tranny doesn't have 4.47 final drive of the ITR... very different tranny in terms of top end

You must be smoking crack. A GSR transmission is much more easily obtainable than a B16 trans.

B16 hydro trans:
1. Del Sol VTEC model (very very rare)
2. 99-00 Civic Si (getting rarer by the day)

GSR hydro trans:
1. Any 94-2001 integra GSR (while also getting rare due to theft, there were a shitload sold in the U.S)

Did you forget about all the places that sell motors?
The classifieds section of this site?
And IMHO 99-00 Civic si's aren't getting rare.. just crooked *** people stealing the cars and then using them for parts.

So no one is smoking crack bish.

Well I want top end as well!!!!! I want to at least boost 12 psi and beat people on the track and in the streets! SO I think Iwant to go with the GSR.....its shorter then the LS but I won't lose any top end like I would with a b16

No ITR tranny came with a 4.47 FD.

'96-'97 came with 4.400
'98+ came with 4.785

I've been referring to the 4.4 version this entire time. The 4.785 is even less common, and more expensive.

The B16 comes with a 4.4, just like the 96-97 ITR.</TD></TR></TABLE>

NO!.. i meant 4.785 for the ITR.... errrrr DUMB me
