weird things have been happening lately. First of all A couple months ago my stereo stopped working.. I have the code and when i reset the ecu it wont let me enter a code. The fuse seems fine. About the same time my clock goes out .. cant tell time, again the fuse seems fine. Now a couple days ago I try my horn and its not working? I dont believe it .. also my alarm works but the siren wont go off..?? Can all of these things be linked to a possible short circuit .. The only thing i can think of maybe a possible malfunction when washing my motor with an open hose .. (the car is turned on while engine is being washed.)Note: when i turn my alarm on and open a door the lights flash and a ticking noise from around the steering wheel clicks till i turn it off . My hazard lights flash. Today i removed the stock stereo and there is a harness plugged into it and an antenna plug there is also another opening for another plug but im not sure if one goes in it i thought it might be where the power cord comes from does any one know how many plugs come in the back of a stock stereo . P.s I have a 99 integra gsr with out warranty sorry for the lenthy lecture but i need to get to the bottom of this please responed asap thanks

 

 

Electrical gremlins are no fun (but you know that).

Unfortunately this one is your fault.

Hopefuly people will learn from your example. Do NOT wash your engine bay with a hose or excessive water. Water conducts.

The "ticking" noise is a relay latching on and off, it's probably being false grounded from water in contacting a connector somewhere. Hopefully some evaporation will help you out.

 

Take off the negattive cable on the battery, leave it off for 5-10 mins, then reattach, watch your ears as chances are your alarm will work again, I had the same problem as you
