primer
ive stripped my crx and now want to paint the inside of my car black(its white now) because im going to go ahead and primer the whole car black in the future. i know ill need to sand the paint off when i paint the outside but do i need to sand the paint off on the inside before i primer? im not really going for looks on the inside, but i do want it to hold up and not chip. what should i do?
yes, you are going to want to sand it some. It is the same paint as what is or was on the outside, only in better condition because it hasnt been exposed to the elements. You will want to at least scuf sand like stated before and make sure all dirt and everything is cleared and the area is cleaned really well. Also, I dont know if your going for a pro primer job, or rattle can, but I primered my hatch using the can and got a nice smooth thick finish with the Orchard Supply Hardware, generic brand primer. Its only liek 1.99 a can, but it was such better quality then any other primer I looked for or used in the past, and its lasted now for over a year no probs...just a little bit of fading...good luck...
