Icon6 Flat Paint

I do plan (dreaming) of a project car (American brand V8) and would like to paint it flat green. Like military green.

I also don't plan to wash it much and will be outside in the driveway in the hot 120 degree sun.

Questions:

- Is flat paint more durable?

- Is it better against fade?

- What about "non-flat" paint? Sorry, don't know if there is such a term. If there is, let me know what is it called? It's not super shinny like a new car, and yet not flat. If this project would be a "hot rod", then this "non-flat" paint would look it's age on the car, even thou it's a new paint job. In short, I want the paint job to look "old." Old does not equal faded.

Flat paint should be fine.

Semi-gloss? Not flat, yet not shiny enough to give yourself a shave.

If you are using something other then automotive paint most often the flat paints are less resistant to damage. Ive painted 2 flat vehicles and its an additive you mix into the clear. I use ppg and it came out nice and flat. So in that sense the vehicle still has a protective clear on it.
