I picked up d15b for 300 even complete with intake manifold. It pulls great. And I didn't get it cuz it's JDM. But it is a great motor and wouldn't pass up the opportunity get it if I were you.

I got my d15b with tranny for $550. I like it but it doesn't feel like it pulls like my CRX/ZC...then again I'm using a p28 not the p08....

to me jdm means slower because japs in jap town have a "law" that says they have to get a swap after 35000miles so they jack up the engine and only reason jdm engines got more hp is cause in japan they use higher octane than u.s., like 98 or 100 not sure but a lot higher than american shiznit so i don like jdm engines!

Also oct. has nothing to do with power.

Welllllll, you are correct sorta. It's doesn't directly, but......
Octane DOES have alot to do with how high you can get CR, though. And.....
The higher the CR= The higher the HP output.

It may be needed for higher power output but higher oct gas doesnt make any more power. Throw 93oct in a stock d15b and it wont make any more power. But yeah, we get what each of us is getting at.

actually, they use RON rating, and their lowest level RON would be the equilvelant to USDM 96 octane or something like that. their fuel actually IS higher octane.

I said you WERE right.
But I just added that the 2 things ARE RELATED.
Higher octane gas BY ITSELF does NOT make an engine MORE powerful. I agree. But it does allow ANY engine with a HIGH CR to RUN more efficently=More Power.

And our gas octanes are arrived at by "blending", the 2. RON+ Motor=USDM octane rating.

Overall the D15 is a nice piece for the price (wouldn't pay more than $400 for the engine and ECU)
You get the Z6 Head ($200 in good condition)
Z6 OBD-1 distributor ($125)
OBD-1 injectors ($30 just a guess)
4 Wire O2 sensor ($75 ish)
Plus a good spare bottem end with trick rods (STRONGER and LONGER than other D15 rods.
If that's all you can afford than get it. Find a 1.6 bottom end in the gutter (yeah right!) and build it up with .5mm over pistons and maybe get the Zex 53900 (isthat right) and you've got something good! (125-130 range)

Your car prolly came form jpan or canada. Im sure you would like Jdm engines if you could afford one such as a bseries JDM engine. And if you SEARCHfor jdm d15 there is a whole write up on it on how much better it is than a USdm minime.
