CRX Hood Clearance
If you are running a 88-91 CRX with an engine swap other than a b16a...for instance a ls/vtec or gsr what kind of hood are you using. I have heard that there is a problem with swapping other motors into the CRX, other than a b16a, that has to do with clearance problems. I don't want the motor to sit to low to the ground which would leave no choice but to get a taller hood...will the SIR Conversion hood give me proper clearance?
I have a b18c with hasport mounts and it barely rubbed so I cut a little piece of webbing from underneath the hood and the stock hood works fine with no rubbing at all. use a dremel tool with a cutting wheel and it takes 2 seconds.

speaking of hood clearance, my hood on ym 1st gen clears the d16 quite nicely but we had to remove the cam gear cover...
the only clearance problem we had was the bolts on the top of the integra struts stick up kinda high, and someone slammed the hood on them (grrr!) and now i have little indentions on my hood from it(grrrrx2)
over the last few months ive been lookin at alot of j-spec cars and mods and whatnot and i noticed that a few of the japanese guys like to just raise the back of the hoods and their monsters. im guessing its for clearance of some sort of mod or for some ventalation, does anyone know why and how they do this? i was thinking just fond some sort of spacer for the bolts on the hingesand adjust the latch on the hood so it sits just right and my strut and cam gear cover clearance problems would be solved so i dont have some one slam my hood again by accident.

Yes, I will 2nd this.
I swapped a JDM B18c GSR with YS1 cable tranny in a customer's CRX using HaSport mounts and all I had to do was to cut out some of the underhood webbing above near where the timing belt area is. A cut-off wheel works well.

That's exactly what I did. Replaced my b16 with a b20vtec and had hood clearance issues. I am considering a fiber images hood, but in the meantime, I went to home depot, got some 1/4" nylon spacers and a some longer bolts. Hood latches nicely and it doesn't look much different.
