I am interested in buying a type R wing from comptech. I e-mailed them about buying the one they recommend for the LS/GS/RS which has no brake light in it and looks a ton better than the one with the brake light. They said the holes in the GSR would not match up beacause of the hole for the brake light, and that you would be able to see like half of that hole.
My question is to all of you who have put ITR spoilers on their GSR's, which company did you buy from to get one without the light that would bolt on to the GSR, or did you have to have the bodyshop make some modifications to make the spoiler without the brakelight fit correctly?
Thanks for any responses in advance.......

i seriously considered this at one point. the one from comptech will be good quality, but others offer this piece for less like $250. i've seen them for as low as $175. the comptech aero stuff may be made by wings west (or some of it - "W" and "Big Mouth" are giveaways). hmmm, i think comptech used to charge a lot more like $475 or something so wing west prices will probably be similar. not sure what they emailed you back, but i think their website might be wrong/misleading/confusing. well, i don't want to guess at what they're actually selling but you should know that the GS and GSR use the same exact (factory) wing. if they're telling you the "no-light" one won't fit your gsr they may actually be wrong. it bolts on using the same holes but you are left with what they told you, a half a hole that was for the gsr brake light wire. all people are doing is plugging that hole in some fashion with tape(yuk), a rubber or plastic plug or to go extreme and permanent you would have a body shop patch and paint the hole. people who have done this could go into more detail about what they plugged the hole with.
I did it to mine you just need to have a body shop fill in the 2 holes and paint the deck after being filled in. I got mine from a guy that bought if from the acura dealership.
no you dont. theres nothin to modify. i got the wings west type r wing and it matched fine. the key is to maneuver it untill both holes are covered. its gonna "look' crookit to u but its not. it comes with two plastic plugs to plug up the holes. it fits fine

Nighthawk GSR,
How does the spoiler that you bought look in comparison to the one from the dealer.
Does it look exactly like the real ITR spoiler
Where should I buy mine from, for the most realistic look and best quality??????

Does anyone know how much acura would charge for an ITR spoiler?
Were the rear ends on the 98+ tegs the same as the 94-97, as far as the hatch for the spoiler to fit on?

Can you post pics of your wing? I wanna see how crooked it "looks".

I'm looking to replace my dingy spoiler with a Type-R one also. Try to get the OEM from Acura. It's only about $375 for employees.
