Ok so my key has been getting stuck in the ignition (4th gen) for some time now, and it was very aggravating. Well tonight upon a cold start it was stuck and STUPIDLY I forced it, and I'm pretty sure I bent something because now it will not come out at all, and the car barely turns off (very hard to get it to 'off')

How much should a new switch run and how do I install it? Is it worth going to junkyard for?

 

Nm I got it out, but I still wanna replace the switch it is very worn out/messed up

 

Did you try sparing some lubricant down the key cylinder ? That may solve your problem.....

 

I had that same problem & i fixed it by getting a new key made.
your key may be getting locked in due to wear.
Try a new key first.

 

or use a pencil to write on the key which will work as a lubricant. I don't think you want to use a liquid lube.

 

No I really want replace it, I pretty much broke it. It is in 2 pieces now, the middle is moving independantly from the outer ring....
