Default What kind of Hi-flow cat?!?! Exhaust Guru needed.

I am having my current system revamped with a Magnaflow muffler and custom bent piping.
My OEM cat is original and I want to replace it.
What brands are out there? Which are actually good?
Would it be worth it to buy a 2.5" cat into 2.5" piping. I have been told that the Greddy collector is 2.25" and it would be worthless to use 2.5" piping.
It has also been mentioned to me that I could do 2.5" cat into 3" piping!
This system will be run with the below setup---VVVVV
Thanks in advance,
clint

If you plan on keeping the Greddy header, I would go with a 2.25" Carsound cat. mated to a 2.25" mandrel-bent exhaust. Just be sure that the "custom bent piping" that you mention in your post is going to be mandrel-bent, not crush.

I found CATCO and CARSOUND on ebay for ~$50 shipped.
I just spoke with one of our techs, and he suggested using a Magnaflow resonator off the cat into custom mandrel into a Magnaflow!
Sound good???
Is it just not worth going with 2.5"???
Worthless because of 2.5 collector on Greddy?
Thanks again!

you could just get 2.5 piping so if you wanna upgrade your header later on you already got the exhaust

Just curious because I am sort of local to you, but where are you getting the work done?

I am having the work done at CarX on Ogden Ave in Westmont. 1 of my Techs knows someone there.
Greddy header into Carsound or Catco cat into Magnaflow resonator into Magnaflow muffler with dual 3" tips.
The only header I know of with the 2.5" collector is the MUGEN.
Whats up with SMSP?
