Default How to remove water stains ??

I just clayed my 2001 NBP (Black) USDM ITR and found I could not get rid of the water stains on the hood and roof of the car. These are the marks left behind when raindrops dry out in the sun. Does anyone know how to get rid of these ?? I'm thinking maybe a very-light rubbing compound might work but I don't want to risk damaging the paint. Anyone ??

Try a mix of vinegar and water. Start out with a lower concentration of vinegar and increase the % if the spots aren't coming out.

Really ?!?! That's weird but if you say it will work I'll try it. Thanks.

If it's too course, yes.

For your hood and roof, I'd use a very mild rubbing compound, followed by a polish, then wax.

Yeah ... ditto on the steel wool for the windows.. no problem there, just make sure you don't hit the body or rubber seals on the windows.

I went out and bought what I am told is a very light rubbing compound. Its 3M brand and suposedly works well for this kind of thing. I'll let you know how it goes.

Try Meguiar's Body Scrub. Worked for me.

I also use this at home. It's called Rejuvenator, made by Malco. It works wonders.
