ACT clutch $?
I bought mine for $389 on special from http://www.hondadriven.net, now it's $405. It took them about 9 days to ship me an "in-stock" part, so I didn't get it for more than 2 weeks from when I ordered it.
The clutch is an excellent piece. The pedal is a little stiffer than stock, and the engagement point is a little lower, but it's smoother and grabs a lot harder. You should replace the flywheel at the same time with a lightweight one, since you would probably have to get the stock one resurfaced anyway. I bought the XACT streetlite (12.5 lb) flywheel. If I could do it again I would get the prolite (8.5? lbs.) I was worried about driveability with a lightweight flywheel, but I think the car is easier to launch with the streetlite than the stock flywheel.

Well put, I have the HDSS with a 8.8 lb XACT flywheel and I pretty much love it. I paid about $600 for everything.

Another vote for the HDSS and ProLite, very sweet combo. I am 80 miles from break in, but so far it is much smoother and nicer to drive than stock. I don't know about launching it yet, 2 more days. I paid $525 on a groupbuy.

No vibrations, shaking, or scraping in the last 3000 miles. Occasionally, before everythings warmed up, I'll note a real quiet, low pitched noise kind of like opening a door with squeaky hinges that lasts all of a 1/4 second. But I don't feel it in the pedal at all.
I've never heard any horror stories about ACT clutches, though I'm sure some are out there. I've heard of much more go wrong with most other clutch brands such as Exedy or Clutchnet, though those brands still seem to have a pretty good track record. The general consensus is that ACT makes high-quality, better-and-more-durable-than-OEM equipment.

just make sure you get the flywheel resurface no matter what, and follow the manufacturers proper break-in and have a competent shop/friend install it.....
