Assembling my 2.0l b18c5 12:8:1 compression with 50 shot nitrious.
There are a few questions about cost and how to assemble my engine. Here are the cost quesetions. For the sleeves only dartons who should I have them assembled by. Plan to bore the head and the block to 2.0l spec. Pistons will be 13:1 compression weisco forged pistons and crowner forged rods. This is with a b16 head. The pistons were for a GSR, so I'm looking for compression to be in the neigborhood of 12:8:1, is that right? Head studs will be supplied by ARP. Jun balanced crank. For the head skunk II stage 3 cams. With whole skunk II valve train with skunk II cam gears. Intake manifold will be Skunk II intake manifold and Type R trotle body. Head will be port and polished. Rc 440 injectors with AEM fuel rail and FPR. Engine mangement till be Hondata 200a and VAFC hack. With this set up I plan on running on 93 octane gas. Nitrious will be fedd by NX direct prot 2 stage 50 shot. I will have a ECU for the Nitrious and and ECU for all motor. Will this work? The car will not be drivin that much. With this I know it will cost a pretty penny. I plan on the car being down for mabe a 6 month period at the most if everything doesn,t go right. Does anyone think this setup will work with the proper tuning? please keep the jokes home.
building a car for NA and then adding nitrous on top doesn't go so well. I dont think you'll make anymore power with a 50 shot on stg 3's. I'd scratch the 50 shot, everything else sounds good.
I would recommend a management system that will control nitrous as well as fuel and ignition. 440cc injectors sound too big for your set up. If your only going to run a 50 shot of nitrous I'd rec and dry system instead of direct port. You'll need a better than stock fuel pump also. At 12.8 comp pump gas will be hard to tune without ping. I'm only running 11.5 comp, even running my engine on the rich side I get some ping w/o octane boost on pump gas.
